The Spring/Summer 2019 collection is dominated by a range of subtle to very characteristic stripes, from fine ‘microstrips’ to broad brushstrokes. Sometimes classically clean, sometimes in a patched composition, that breaks the simplicity of cuts. Straight and casual, generous silhouettes alternate in a color palette of a classic black and white contrast, pastel sandy shades, soft and strong blue tones and fresh citrus accents. The fabrics are dominated by naturalness and functionality combined with high tech features.
Optical illusions, in which silhouettes of garments can be found within themselves, stand out this season. This idea was created in collaboration with the artist Wolfgang Meluhn, who uses garments as canvas in his work among other things. In addition to his existing textile artworks, Meluhn also created paintings that were made to compliment garments of the collection. These were then used as prints on different fabrics.
